How is an application authorised?
'Diakonisches Werk', the Social Service Agency of the Evangelical Church of Germany, processes all applications.
The allocation of funds is determined by the 'Committee for Ecumenical Service' (AÖD). Its subcommittee, 'Churches helping Churches' / 'Hope for Eastern Europe', usually allocates project funds for 'Churches helping Churches' three times a year. The committee is made up of representatives of the AÖD, the 'Union of Evangelical Churches' (UEK) and the 'Evangelical Commission for Central and Eastern Europe' (EKMOE).
Smaller projects can also be authorised independently of the committee meetings by 'Diakonisches Werk'.
